The transmission must be replaced or repaired if there has been a breakdown in the transmission or damage has been caused by the maintenance.

Since dismantling the transmission from the car and putting it back on is a lot of work and a time-consuming job, just like disassembling and assembling the transmission, it forms a substantial part of the repair invoice.

Therefore, you should always carefully consider what details should be exchanged in the transmission.

Is it only a broken detail and a few seals, or is complete maintenance done on the entire transmission?

When contacting a repair shop, be sure to find out what the alternatives are. If the car is to be used for a long time, it is worth considering the complete restoration of the transmission mechanics, which requires the replacement of new clutch discs, gasket set and more critical bearings and other parts.

In this case, be sure to ask a guarantee for the work, because, for example, a later breakage of a small piece with a spare part price of just € 5 would again mean a time-consuming taking down of the transmission.

At the same time, there is probably no point in installing a 20-year-old car with a new transmission – everything is of course a matter of choice.

Repairs can be made with both original OEM and B spare parts. We supply spare parts directly from the transmission manufacturers as well as from major European and US dealers.

Our product range also includes spare parts that the vehicle brand representation does not currently offer, so before deciding on buying a used or new transmission, ask for advice on whether the transmission could be repaired.
